We meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30am at our Castle Street site and also have a satellite service running at the Hub in Jubilee Gardens, where there is a more informal, café-style approach.
Both services include times of worship, prayer, reflection and listen to the same talk. Sometimes we hold joint services at Castle Street instead of running our Hub Service, so check out our calendar for more info.

We are currently recruiting a Church Pastor

£40,000-£50,000 depending on experience and qualifications (ideally full-time)

Saffron Walden Community Church is an exciting place to be. We are a vibrant and growing community of believers located in the picturesque market town of Saffron Walden, in north Essex.

We have experienced significant growth over the last few years and now run parallel services across two sites each Sunday morning.

We are active in outreach, enthusiastically evangelical in beliefs, and very open to the work of the Holy Spirit.

We are looking for an additional pastor to join our existing team of two pastors to further strengthen for growth.

Welcome to our church

Saffron Walden Community Church is an independent Christian congregation located in the heart of Saffron Walden. Our aim is to make Jesus central to our lives and our relationships and to provide an open and welcoming community where anyone can explore what it means to be a Christian in today’s world.

Prayer is important to us and we periodically gather for extended times of prayer and reflection on a Saturday morning.

Churches in the Community

Alongside the other churches in Saffron Walden, we offer a range of activities across the week, suited to different age groups and open to all. In particular, we offer a Toddler Music Playgroup on term-time Fridays from 9.30 to 11am, and a Youth Club on Friday evenings from 7.30 to 9pm.

Community Church @ The Hub

In September 2023, we launched a second service at the Hub in Jubilee Gardens. The service runs at the same time as our Castle Street Service at 10.30am. The service has a more relaxed atmosphere but includes some of the teaching and elements from our Castle Street site.

We have ceased to take cash collections during our services. Many of our members now give to the church by regular bank transfer, but for those seeking an alternative, please click on the button to make a donation .
