Who are we?

Saffron Walden Community Church is an independent Christian congregation located in the heart of Saffron Walden. Our aim is to make Jesus central to our lives and our relationships, and to provide an open and welcoming community where anyone can explore what it means to be a Christian in today’s world.

Our response to the coronavirus

It is with huge regret that we, in line with many other churches, are following advice to close our church building until further notice.

However, we are now getting together on Sundays via the medium of Zoom at our usual time of 10.30 am. If you would like to join us, please use Zoom to attend meeting ID 867-255-9470. (Recordings will also be made available on our YouTube channel.)

We are also open to requests from any member of our local community who needs someone to talk to – someone who cares and will listen to them – or would simply like someone to pray for them. Just e-mail us at prayer@waldencommunity.org.uk either with your prayer request, or to ask us to contact you by phone or email.

You can now find us on Facebook, so do stop by there for the latest news and updates from us.

Meanwhile, we encourage you to safeguard your own health and that of others by following advice from the government and the NHS. This is constantly changing, so please keep alert for announcements and refer to the relevant websites: government, NHS.

If you experience symptoms – either a persistent cough or a high temperature – please stay at home for 7 days. Other members of your household should do the same but for 14 days. For medical advice about the coronavirus (COVID-19), please use the 111 service rather than your local GP, and if possible, contact 111 online rather than by telephone.
